Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is a subsidiary company of the shipping corporation Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCLH). The project was curated by Goldman Global Arts Gallery LLC (2015-founded company) with co-owners Jessica Goldman Srebnick and Peter Tunney. Norwegian Aqua’s hull design is titled 'Where the Sky Meets the Sea” and is mythology-themed. NCL Aqua's hull artwork will be designed by the Filipino-American graffiti artist Allison Hueman (world-renowned for her street art and global collaborations with the brands Nike and L’Oreal, and also Google. NCL's previous BREAKAWAY PLUS-Class boats were all built by Meyer Werft Germany (in Papenburg).
The vessel (IMO number 9824007) will be Bahamas- flagged (MMSI tba) and registered in Nassau. Of the same design (Aqua's sistership) is TBN4 (2026). The 2025-built Norwegian Aqua cruise ship is the first in the PRIMA PLUS series and the third of all six PRIMA-Class NCL liners constructed in Italy by Fincantieri (Marghera Yard/ Venice Italy).
